About Me
I'm Hannah. Fifteen years in the fitness industry. A passion for people that started before the career did. This is the story behind Deserts & Gardens Fitness & Nutrition Coaching.
The Story
From the time I was a little girl, I loved being active. I was fascinated by the human body and developed an interest in strength training and bodybuilding long before I ever considered it as a career. At the same time, I had a genuine passion for helping people. Bringing those two passions together felt like the perfect fit — and I've never looked back.
Over the past 15 years, I've worked in large commercial gyms, owned and operated a fitness franchise, built my own coaching business, taught physical education in schools, worked with athletes, individuals with disabilities, and led a fitness bootcamp for young offenders. I've competed in a bikini competition and am currently preparing for the Figure division, completed a Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, a 5K, and a 10K — and I continue to push my own limits through ongoing education and new challenges.
Born and raised in Toronto, I moved to Edmonton in 2014 before making Cold Lake home in 2025. Every chapter of that journey has shaped not only the coach I am today, but the heart behind Deserts & Gardens Fitness & Nutrition Coaching.
The Name
Life isn't lived entirely in flourishing gardens — sometimes we all find ourselves walking through deserts. I've experienced seasons of challenge, growth, loss, and rebuilding, and I've also experienced the beauty that comes from perseverance and faith. My mission is to help people find strength in every season of life. Whether you're navigating a difficult chapter or ready to thrive, I want to help you build a body that's strong, a mind that's resilient, and habits that allow you to flourish long after you've left my care.
How I Coach
Three principles guide every program I write and every session I coach:
Everyone's journey is different. I believe coaching begins with understanding your unique goals, lifestyle, challenges, and abilities. Whether you're taking your first steps toward better health or striving for peak performance, your program should be built around you — not the latest fitness trend.
True strength goes beyond lifting heavier weights. My goal is to help you build a body that moves well, a mindset that stays resilient, and habits that support your health for years to come. Lasting results are created through consistency, education, and sustainable progress — not quick fixes.
Life is constantly changing, and your health should support you through every season. Whether you're navigating challenges, celebrating victories, recovering from setbacks, or pursuing new goals, I believe fitness should equip you to live life with confidence, resilience, and purpose.
